This simulation was written towards the end of my PhD in 2022. Actually, I only made it for a nice viz in my thesis presentation, but it became the inspiration for the paper The contribution of movement to social network structure and spreading dynamics under simple and complex transmission, coauthored with Damien Farine. This simulates spatially-explicit cultural spread using the NBDA framework. The take-home message is that transmission dynamics are dominated by the time it takes individuals to come into contact, more-so than transmission rules themselves. you can play around with parameters using the controls, and click a node to seed an innovation.
